To Insure a Property.
To Buy, Insure or Re-Register a Car or Boat.
To Work or Start a Business.
To Open a Bank Account or Borrow Money i.e. Mortgage.
To set up Utility Connections or any Credit Contracts e.g. Electric, Mobile Phones.
To obtain a Padron – similar to the Electoral Roll in England.
For Inheritance purposes, any beneficiary must have an NIE in order to inherit spanish assets.
Children often need N.I.E's for School or Medical Care.
